Flower Power

Although I did say good bye to Summer...
I could not resist picking this bunch of
late Summer Flower Power from the garden.
Zinnias, a variety of Dahlias, Sedum, Aster Dumosus & Gladiolus.

Wishing you all a lovely week full of colour!!

Surprised!!

Amazing... What a wonderful weather we had the last weeks. Temperatures rose to 18, 19 degrees Celsius. This is too warm for this period of the year, but I so loooooove it!

I filled some vases with violets, under the violets I planted bulbs in layers: snow drops, blue & white muscari and tulips.

To my big surprise I saw already green leaves from the muscari peeping out between the violets, isn't that amazing? In November??

Can you spot them?
By the way, this is our garden at this very moment: clean & empty, we pruned the conifers and are planning to make a kind of natural fence. I'm already planning lots of beautiful climbers there!
The real work will start again in Spring!

From a different angle:

And yet another rose decided to bloom again, already full of briers,
just one stubborn blooming bud... that's nature!

Time for some action inside the house: there is still some painting to do!

Take care & see you soon again!

By the way, have a look here (mainly for the Dutch speaking!) & join!

Early morning walk

Yesterday morning I decided to go for an early morning walk in the forest near our house...
Still a bit foggy, but the sun already appearing through the trees...
Cobwebs all over the place...

Mushrooms everywhere too...

There's still some sunshine here & temperatures are still pleasant too, the forecasts however
are different... & I have the feeling that fall will really start by the end of this week!
But I'm sure we will all see the beauty of it & enjoy
the cozyness of the fall season!!

Enjoy!!

Don't forget to enter the SFGA here
Still another 11 days to go...

Colourful!

Just a quick post to let you know that I'm busy this week... busy with the organisation of the International Day at school... an yearly event, full of fun, food & friendship.
That's why I leave you today with some pictures of my terrace (I just can't get enough of the it... it's still such a wonderful weather in Versailles so we do enjoy our garden/terrace to the fullest!).

These little flowers (dorotheanthus bellidiformis) are so adorable, they love the sun and they open every day and close again at night time.
Just take away the old flowers from time to time and you can enjoy them all summer long!
Have a look in your garden center, they are such a happy flower!!

I wish you all a happy & colourful week!

A market day in Versailles

A quick tour around the Versailles market... loads of sunshine, a broken camera...
Not the best recipe for great pictures...
But I just liked to give you a glimpse of the market in town, every Tuesday, Friday & Sunday
It's absolutely great for fresh vegetables, fruits, chicken, cheese, nuts, flowers, etc.

And of course a visit to the market isn't complete without a café crème & a macaron...
This one was a real calorie-bomb with a thick layer of crème noissette in the middle...
so delicious!
Have a great week!

Winter Wonderland!

It's a real Winter Wonderland & I just can't get enough of it!

Bassin de Neptune / Jardin du Chateau

Blue sky & sun today, that made it even more beautiful!

School decided to make it a snowday today so we could even more enjoy it!! And so did Senna again...
I can't promiss you that this will be my last snowy post...
Although the forecasts for the coming days are temperatures above 0°C, next week the real cold weather will be back, they say...
On Sunday we'll be having a 'happy holidays' lunch here (with a 'cozy winter' theme) and I'm really hoping for the same gorgeous weather as today so that we can have hot chocolate or vin chaud outside...
Will you keep your fingers crossed for us too?
Bisous,
